Five Botanical-Themed Books I've Read Recently
I've always loved to read. As a little girl, my mama would take me to the bookstore every Thursday after she got home from work so I could pick out a new book. I would head straight for the back wall where the collections of Babysitter's Club, Beverly Cleary, and Sweet Valley High could be found and would smell that sweet smell of a new book all the way home. I will always be so thankful that she made reading such a pleasure for me.
As an adult, I still love to read and am a sucker for historical fiction and anything botanical-themed. Below, I've included a list of five botanical-themed novels I've read and truly enjoyed.
Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer

The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner
Spellbinding is the word I would use to describe The Lost Apothecary. An enthralling work of mystery about women struggling to survive in a world built by men, for men. I couldn't put it down!
Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah
Another powerful, breathtaking story of strength, a subject Hannah writes about so well. Winter Garden is an epic love story set in WWII Russia will pull at your mama heartstrings until they nearly snap. And at the heart of it all, a garden as a place of solace.
The Signature of All Things by Elizabeth Gilbert
The Signature of All Things is such an unexpected interesting read, taking the reader back to nineteenth century science. It started a bit slow but I fell in love with Gilbert's beautiful writing, the unforgettable characters, and her contagious enthusiasm for the botanical world.
